Today God is asking us to position ourselves in rest. We cannot be anxious when we fix our eyes on Jesus. In Isaiah 26:3 NLT- “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”‘
When our thoughts are fixed on Jesus we can remain at peace. The key is to let go of self-effort and sweat not. In Philippians 4:6-7 NIV, Jesus instructs us to be anxious for nothing. This is not a choice, it is a command.
But the only way we can be free from anxiety is by positioning ourselves in the finished work. When we pray with thanksgiving, it activates grace in our hearts. We don’t have to earn peace, we have peace already.
PEACE COMES WHEN WE ACTIVELY THANK JESUS FOR WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE.
At the cross, Jesus redeemed us from stress. He sweated great drops of blood for us. You need to think on that today.
Do you believe that Jesus wore the crown of thorns on His head for you to be free from mental turmoil?
The answer should be a resounding yes. Jesus paid the full price. We have to reposition ourselves in Christ Jesus to stay in peace.
You have to decide to talk your way into peace: You have to say:
I have a sound mind of Christ.
I have the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.
I am loved by Jesus.
I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
I am dependent on the grace of God.
It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me. I die to self daily.
When we stress, we are reliant on our own efforts. When we stay at peace, we are dependent on the Holy Spirit. It is very hard to hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit when we are anxious. We need to get out of our heads and into our hearts.
We need to meditate on scripture to find our peace. The word does the work. Not your efforts, the word of God. When we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of Jesus, we are actually humbling ourselves under His word. We are saying His word is Sovereign.
Choose to talk your way into peace. Fill your mouth with the word of God. Thank Him for the peace, grace and blessings that you already have in Christ.
PRAY THIS PRAYER
Father in the name of Jesus, I receive your peace today. I receive your love. I declare I am the redeemed of the Lord. I thank you, Jesus that my heart is at peace today. You are in control. In Jesus name Amen.
If you have not made Jesus your Lord and Savior, I encourage you to pray this prayer today:
“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. I receive your forgiveness. I ask you to be my Lord and Savior. I declare I am washed by the blood of Jesus and I am now born again. I am a child of God.
In Jesus name Amen”.
